A case was registered against a software engineer in Maharashtra's Kalyan after he allegedly gave triple talaq to his wife as she refused to sleep with his boss.

The incident came to light on December 19 when a 45-year-old man asked his 28-year-old wife to get intimate with his boss at a party. Following this, things took a turn for the worse when the man asked his wife to arrange Rs 15 lakh from her parents' house for his first wife.

However, when his second wife refused again, the man gave instant triple talaq, a criminal offence since 2019.

A case was registered against the accused under Sections 115(2), 351(2), 351(3) and 352 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant provisions of the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019.

According to sources, the victim was married in January this year. The wife was in a happy relationship for the first few months before the husband started harassing her for money. The husband said he required Rs 15 lakh to divorce his first wife and pestered his second wife to get the amount from her parents.

The husband allegedly abused his second wife physically after she refused to sleep with his boss. After giving instant talaq, he threw his wife out of the house.

Following this horrific ordeal, the wife went to Sambhaji Nagar police station to file a case against the husband on December 19. The case was transferred to Kalyan's Bazarpeth police station the next day.
