Shah Rukh Khan has expressed sadness and anger over the deadly terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam. On Wednesday, the Bollywood superstar took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle and penned down a strong note. SRK expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and urged the entire nation to come together at this time of grief.

“Words fail to express the sadness and anger at the treachery and inhumane act of violence that has occurred in Pahalgam. In times like these, one can only turn to God and say a prayer for the families that suffered and express my deepest condolences. May we as a Nation, stand united, strong and get justice against this heinous act," he wrote.

For the unversed, Lashkar-linked terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon. The incident killed around 27 people. Eyewitnesses told security forces that two to three men rushed in dressed in military fatigues, firing indiscriminately at tourists while they were enjoying the Baisaran Meadows of Pahalgam on horseback. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar offshoot, took responsibility for the attack.

Security forces were rushed to the area, and a massive anti-terrorist operation was launched to hunt down the assailants. Videos of the aftermath of the attack showed people lying motionless and bloodied on the ground while women were frantically looking for their loved ones.

Besides Shah Rukh Khan, several other celebrities including Siddharth Malhotra, Sonu Sood, Anupam Kher, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopa and Allu Arjun have also expressed shock and anger over the terrorist attack.
