This development came after the top court directed the poll body to publish the district-wise list of all omitted voters and state the reasons for their deletion, whether due to death, migration, or double registration.

The Election Commission of India told the Supreme Court on Thursday that it has agreed to display the booth-wise list of 65 lakh voters whose names were deleted from the draft list published by the poll body during the recently concluded Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar.

In addition, the booth-wise list of 65 lakh voters shall also be displayed on the notice board by each booth-level officer in their respective offices and at block development/panchayat offices.

This development came after the top court directed the poll body to publish the district-wise list of all omitted voters and state the reasons for their deletion, whether due to death, migration, or double registration.

This process will enable people to have manual access to the list and the reasons specified by the poll body for deleting names from the voter roll.

In the public notice, it shall also be mentioned that aggrieved persons may submit their claims along with a copy of their Aadhaar card.

The booth-wise list of removed voters should be displayed at the District Election Officer’s office. The District Election Officer should also share this on their social media website.

This information should also be publicised through advertisements in every newspaper, on radio, TV, etc. The list of removed voters will also be displayed at every BLO (Booth Level Officer) office and Panchayat office as well.

The poll body has been directed to take these steps by next Tuesday.
