Telugu Desam Party's Vizianagaram MP Kalisetty Appalanaidu announced incentives for women having a third child: Rs 50,000 for a girl child, and a cow if it's a boy. The offer by Appalanaidu has gained attention across the state, with many praising the decision.

The announcement follows statements by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on steps to encourage population growth. Naidu announced at a programme in Markapur, Prakasam district, that maternity leave would be granted to all women employees regardless of the number of children they have.

The Chief Minister said, "All women should have as many children as possible." A constable asked the Home Minister on Friday whether maternity leave would apply to all women employees. The Chief Minister clarified on Saturday that maternity leave would be granted for all births, not just the first two.

Until now, women employees received six months of maternity leave with full pay only for two deliveries. The Chief Minister announced that this benefit would now apply to all births.

Following this, Vizianagaram MP Kalisetty Appalanaidu announced incentives for those having a third child. Addressing a gathering at Rajiv Sports Compound in Vizianagaram on International Women's Day, he said, "If a woman gives birth to a third child who is a girl, Rs 50,000 will be paid to her from my salary. If the child is a boy, a cow will be handed over to her."

The announcement has gained traction on social media, particularly on WhatsApp, where party activists and his supporters in Ranasthalam mandal have shared it widely.
