Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Dinesh Mohaniya on Tuesday was charged for allegedly misbehaving with a woman, making inappropriate gestures and blowing flying kisses at her while campaigning for Delhi Assembly elections, police said.
The police have registered a case against the AAP MLA from Sangam Vihar on charges of molestation and sexual harassment.
The woman claimed in her complaint that Mohaniya blew flying kisses at her while campaigning. She further provided a video of the incident to support her claims.
This incident comes amid Delhi going to elections today. The three-time MLA from Sangam Vihar has been fielded from his constituency yet again.
Mohaniya is no stranger to controversies. Last year, he was booked for allegedly hurling abuse at a roadside fruit seller in his constituency.
In his defence, Mohaniya said that he had only asked the fruit seller to move away as he had set up his shop in front of a clogged sewer, obstructing the work of civic workers.
Mohaniya further claimed that more such complaints may surface ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections.
