Panic and chaos broke out in a high-rise apartment in Gujarat's Ahmedabad after a fire broke out on the seventh floor. Seven fire engines rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.

Visuals emerged of a terrifying moment when a woman and two children were rescued by locals from the fourth floor at around 4 pm on Friday.

In the video, the woman can be seen dangling one child in the air from the fourth floor, which was already engulfed in thick smoke. As the woman cried for help, a few people gathered on the third floor caught hold of the child, who was hanging mid-air.

Then, after helping the other child in the same way, it was the woman's turn. As she hung from the fourth floor, the locals on the third floor caught hold of her when she let go. She was brought down safely.

While some people were seen trying to escape from their balconies, few others were seen asking for help from their windows.

No casualties were reported from the fire, which was caused by a short circuit in the electric duct of Block C in Parishkar Apartments. Firefighters rescued 18 people from the affected building.
