The 102-year-old was the ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฏ๐จ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐ข๐ง ๐“๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ ๐ญ๐จ ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐ฏ๐ž๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ง๐ž๐ฐ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ˆ๐ง๐๐ข๐š ๐š๐ญ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ˆ๐ง๐๐ž๐ฉ๐ž๐ง๐๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž from Delhi in the early hours of 15th of August 1947.

The news was first broadcast in Tamil for Radio Ceylon at 5.45 am.

Venkatraman was with Akashvani for 64 years working as both regular and a casual artiste.

He was a scriptwriter when he entered Radio but later joined the News Section in Tamil in New Delhi.
