The accused, who drove the car and entered through one of the boundary gates of the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Monday, has been arrested. Two other people have also been apprehended in connection with the incident.
According to documents accessed during the investigation, the vehicle is registered in the name of Sarabjeet Singh, the same person who was driving the car.
The registration details list an address in Puranpur tehsil, Pilibhit, including Kajri and Niranjanpur Singhpur areas.
The car was seized hours after the incident. The breach also prompted authorities to tighten security across the premises.
The car managed to pass through Gate No. 2, an entry point meant for controlled access. Adding to the tension, ink was reportedly thrown at the vehicle of the Delhi Assembly Speaker during the episode.
Sarabjit allegedly placed a bouquet inside the Delhi Assembly Speaker’s car and remained seated inside the vehicle for some time. The car was reportedly left unlocked, as the driver had stepped away to the porch to carry items to the Speaker’s room.
The records also mention the engine number and show that the vehicle’s registration was issued on February 26, 2026.
Two Other Accused Are Taxi Drivers
As far as the other two accused individuals are concerned, it was learned that they were both apprehended alongside Sarabjit. However, preliminary investigations do not indicate their involvement in the incident.
Sources said both individuals are reportedly taxi drivers. Police are currently questioning them as part of the ongoing investigation.
