Newly released records from the Federal Bureau of Investigation show that a woman alleged an inappropriate sexual encounter involving Donald Trump when she was a minor, according to documents made public by the U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday.
The records summarise interviews conducted by FBI agents in 2019 as part of the investigation into disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of running a sex trafficking operation involving underage girls.
According to the newly disclosed documents, the unidentified woman told investigators that Epstein introduced her to Trump in New York or New Jersey in the 1980s when she was between 13 and 15 years old. She alleged that Trump attempted to force her to perform oral sex during the encounter, news agency Reuters reported.
The Justice Department cautioned that some of the documents include “untrue and sensationalist claims” about Trump, and Reuters said it could not independently verify the allegations.
The documents were among 15 files that the department said had previously been “incorrectly coded as duplicative” and therefore not released earlier.
The disclosure comes amid scrutiny in the U.S. House of Representatives over how the Justice Department is handling records related to the Epstein investigation. Lawmakers recently voted to subpoena Attorney General Pam Bondi for questioning on the matter.
The White House did not immediately respond to questions about the documents. However, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Politico that the allegations were “completely baseless accusations, backed by zero credible evidence.”
Trump has previously said his association with Epstein ended in the mid-2000s and that he was unaware of the financier’s sexual abuse of underage girls.
