A 20-year-old law student at Amity University’s Lucknow campus died by suicide on Friday, leaving behind a note apologising to her parents.

The student, identified as Akshita Upadhyay, was a second-year BA LLB student from Mathura. According to police, her body was discovered in her hostel room at the university's Malhaur campus.

The incident occurred around 8:20 a.m. when Akshita’s roommate, Alisha Khan, knocked on the door but received no response. Assistant Warden Deepti Mishra, along with a security guard, unlocked the door to find Akshita hanging from the ceiling fan.
