A woman was allegedly molested and robbed by an intruder inside a paying guest (PG) accommodation in Bengaluru’s Suddaguntepalya police station limits on Friday. CCTV footage from the premises shows a man entering the building and being chased out by a woman a few minutes later.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed against an unidentified person, the accused allegedly groped the woman while she was asleep. When she resisted, he took Rs 2,500 from her room before escaping.

Police said a case has been registered at Suddaguntepalya police station and an investigation is underway to trace the accused.

Last month, a college student in Bengaluru was allegedly raped by the owner of the Paying Guest accommodation she had moved into, police said.

The accused, identified as Ashraf, allegedly took the woman in a car to a secluded location late in the night and assaulted her, according to her police complaint.

“On August 3, a young woman filed a complaint of rape against the owner of the PG where she was staying. As per her statement, he approached her at night and asked her to accompany him. When she refused, he allegedly forced her into his car, took her to a nearby area, and raped her,” police sources said. An FIR was registered, and Ashraf was arrested.
