In the first official action following the suicide of an IPS officer, the Haryana government on Saturday removed the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Rohtak from his post.

The development comes amid growing scrutiny over the circumstances surrounding the IPS officer’s death. The officer’s body was found lying on a sofa inside the soundproof room, with a gunshot wound on the right side of his head, on October 7. A pistol and an empty cartridge were recovered nearby.
