Retired soldier dies after terrorists fire at him, his family in J&K's Kulgam

A former soldier was killed and his wife and daughter sustained injuries after terrorists opened fire at their house in Kashmir's Kulgam region.

A retired army soldier was killed after terrorists opened fire at his home in Kashmir's Kulgam district on Monday. His wife and daughter were also injured in the attack and remain in critical condition.

A top police official told media that terrorists targeted the retired soldier, Manzoor Ahmad Wagay, at his residence in Beghibagh, Kulgam.

In the attack, he, along with his wife and daughter, sustained serious injuries. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, but Wagay succumbed to his injuries.

Following the attack, security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the assailants. The incident has heightened tensions in the region as authorities continue their efforts to maintain security and apprehend those responsible.
