In a chilling case mirroring the former Meerut case, a man’s body was discovered inside a salt-filled blue plastic drum on the rooftop of a house in Rajasthan’s Khairthal-Tijara district.

The 35-year old victim has been identified as Hansram, also known as Suraj by many. According to police, Sunita and Jitendra’s relationship escalated quickly, and the two allegedly planned to The police stated that Sunita and Jitendra, the landlady’s son, began a relationship which escalated quickly.
The duo allegedly plotted to kill Hansram to start a life together. The blue drum used to hide the heinous crime was borrowed from Jitendra’s mother a week prior to the murder. This act points to a potential premeditated murder.
The murder reportedly took place during Janmashtmi celebrations where the couple seized the opportunity as the majority of people were occupied at a nearby temple.
Hansram’s throat was allegedly slit with a sharp weapon, and his body was concealed in the blue drum under layers of salt to delay decomposition.
The following day, the landlady alerted the authorities when she began to smell an unbearable stench from the rooftop. She told police that Sunita has recently requested the drum and later upon inspection, Hansram’s body was discovered.
Sunita and Jitendra were arrested on Monday, 18 August. Both the individuals came clean about their crime during interrogation. They now face charges of murder and criminal conspiracy.
In a rather unfortunate turn of events, Sunita and Hansram’s three children- Harshal, Nandini, and Golu- have been left without parents in the wake of this harsh crime.
