Rajasthan: 8 killed, 22 injured as bus rams truck, catches fire in Dausa

Eight people were killed and 22 injured after a Rishikesh-Indore passenger bus rammed a truck and caught fire on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan's Dausa at around 2:30 am. Around 37 passengers were on board. Police and rescue teams launched relief operations, while the cause is under investigation.

A devastating road accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan's Dausa district claimed eight lives after a passenger bus rammed a truck and caught fire in the early hours of Wednesday. At least 22 other passengers sustained injuries in the incident.

The bus, carrying around 37 passengers, was travelling from Rishikesh to Indore when it was involved in an accident and burst into flames at around 3:30 am.

According to officials, eight people died in the accident, while the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Six bodies were initially shifted to the district hospital as rescue and recovery operations continued.

Police, fire services and emergency response teams reached the spot soon after the incident and carried out rescue operations. Dausa Superintendent of Police Piyush Dixit was present at the accident site to supervise the operation.

Former CM of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot expressed condolences to the family of the deceased.
