Tanisha Bhise, a seven-month-pregnant woman, diedunder distressing circumstances after allegedly being denied admission by Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune.

According to reports, Tanisha was experiencing severe pregnancy-related complications when her family rushed her to the hospital. Her husband, Sushant Bhise, claims the hospital demanded Rs 10 lakh for treatment. Despite his willingness to pay Rs 2.5 lakh immediately, the hospital allegedly refused to initiate medical care, leading to a critical delay.

Sushant, who serves as a private secretary to Maharashtra Legislative Council member Amit Gorkhe, revealed that his wife was carrying twins and required urgent medical attention. After being denied treatment, the family had no choice but to move her to another hospital. However, Tanisha succumbed to complications following delivery.

Accusing the hospital of negligence, Sushant stated, "They prioritised money over life. Had they admitted her in time, she would have survived."

Amit Gorkhe echoed these allegations, saying, "I contacted the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) from the health ministry to intervene, but the hospital still refused admission. In the time lost searching for another facility, we lost her." Gorkhe has vowed to raise the issue in the upcoming legislative session.

Responding to the allegations, Ravi Palekar, Public Relations Officer at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital, said, "The information being circulated in the media is incomplete and is damaging the hospital's reputation. We are preparing an internal inquiry report and will submit all relevant details to the state administration. I cannot comment further at this stage."

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam confirmed that statements from the Bhise family have been recorded. "Further action will follow based on the findings of the government's medical committee," he said.
