The Telangana Police has foiled a bomb plot in Hyderabad in a joint operation with Andhra Pradesh police. The operation led to the arrest of two terror operatives — Siraj from Vizianagaram and Sameer from Hyderabad — who were allegedly planning to carry out a dummy blast in the city.

Reportedly, Siraj procured explosive materials in Vizianagaram as part of the plan. The duo had received instructions from an ISIS module based in Saudi Arabia, which was allegedly guiding them to carry out attacks in Hyderabad. Both the terror operatives are taken into custody.

This joint operation involved Telangana Counter Intelligence and Andhra Pradesh Intelligence.

In the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, security forces have launched extensive search operations across several states including Jammu and Kashmir, following inputs about the possible presence of terrorists.

The National Investigation Agency also on Friday raided 15 locations in Punjab linked to gangster Happy Passian, who is connected with Pakistan-based Khalistani terrorist Harwinder Singh alias Rinda, in connection with the grenade attack on a police station in Gurdaspur district in December last year.

On April 22, a group of terrorists -- including both Pakistani nationals and local operatives linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba -- opened fire at tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. While security officials have identified the perpetrators, they remain at large and are yet to be traced after fleeing the scene.
