PM Modi wears vibrant multicoloured turban for 76th Republic Day celebrations

Republic Day 2025: The Prime Minister paired his turban with a white kurta-pyjama and a brown bandhgala jacket and pocket square for the Republic Day celebrations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday upheld his tradition of wearing striking and colourful turbans on national occasions like Republic Day and Independence Day. For the 76th Republic Day celebrations, he chose a bright red and yellow turban, adding a splash of color to the event.

The Prime Minister paired his turban with a white kurta-pyjama and a brown bandhgala jacket and pocket square.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's outfit was first revealed when he arrived at the National War Memorial to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Following the tribute, he made his way to Kartavya Path for the annual Republic Day parade.

PM Modi wished the nation on the occasion of Republic Day on Sunday.

“Today we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of our glorious republic. On this occasion, we pay our tribute to all those great personalities who made our Constitution and ensured that our development journey is based on democracy, dignity and unity. It is our hope that this national celebration will preserve the values of our Constitution and further strengthen our efforts towards building a strong and prosperous India,” the Prime Minister posted on X.

Flamboyant and colourful turbans have been a regular feature in the prime minister's Independence Day and Republic Day looks since he acquired office in 2014.

For 2024 Republic Day event, the prime minister donned a 'Bandhani' turban showcasing India’s diversity.

The Prime Minister also wore a Rajasthani Bandhani turban for the 74th Republic Day celebrations.
