As officials are investigating a terror link to the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu made a big claim, saying that Pakistan was behind the explosion and the perpetrators would not be spared as Operation Sindoor continues.

“As India’s Home Minister is Amit Shah, people need not worry. The perpetrators will not be spared as Operation Sindoor continues. Pakistan is behind this blast. Recently, a huge amount of explosives was recovered. Also, a large cache of weapons was found near the border areas. Those responsible will pay for this," Bittu told reporters.

A powerful explosion ripped through a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening, killing nine people and injuring 20 others. The death toll rose to 12 on Tuesday, with three more people succumbing to injuries, police said.

Delhi Police have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosives Act. Multiple raids are being carried out to trace those behind the explosion, officials said. The national capital remains on high alert, with security tightened at airports, railway stations, and major public places.

Eight people, including Dr Muzammil and two fellow doctors, have been arrested for allegedly being part of a white-collar terror module involving the Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, spanning across Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, officials said.

As the investigation widens, authorities have detained three additional doctors from Faridabad’s Al-Falah University for questioning. The incident came just hours after Jammu and Kashmir Police uncovered nearly 3,000 kg of explosives hidden in two residential properties in Faridabad.

PM Modi Meets Injured

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited the Lok Nayak Hospital in the national capital to meet those injured in the Delhi Red Fort blast, after concluding his Bhutan visit.

He met and interacted with the injured and wished them a speedy recovery. He was also briefed by officials and doctors at the hospital. The Prime Minister is also set to chair the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) and the cabinet meeting at around 5:30 pm today to review the situation.

During his two-day Bhutan visit, Prime Minister Modi expressed deep sorrow over the deadly car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort and assured that the government will ensure those responsible face the “strictest action."
