On camera: Mechanic flung into air as tyre under repair bursts in Karnataka

A 19-year-old mechanic was tossed in the air by the force of a tyre burst in a roadside repair shop in Karnataka's Udupi district. The mechanic suffered a fracture in his arm.

In a freak accident of a tyre burst, a 19-year-old was severely injured. The video of the tyre burst throwing 19-year-old Abdul Rajid in the air was being widely circulated on social media. The video footage from a CCTV camera is from Udupi, Karnataka.

In the video, Abdul can be seen pumping air into a large tyre, which moments later exploded, throwing him several feet away with its force.

Abdul was reportedly repairing a puncture in the tyre of a private school bus, which can also been seen in the video.

The incident occurred on December 21 reportedly at a roadside tyre shop on National Highway 66, near Koteshwar area of the coastal district.

Abdul was seriously injured in the explosion, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. He was reported to have suffered a compound fracture in his arm.
