Nanded Weapons Haul: Police in Nanded seized a massive cache of sharp weapons, including thousands of swords and daggers, during a raid at a house in the city’s Wazirabad area, officials said. Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Nanded Rural Police Station conducted a search operation at a residence in Ramdas Nagar, where they recovered around 4,796 sharp weapons. The haul included a large number of swords, daggers and koytas, police said.

According to officials, the estimated value of the seized weapons is around Rs 43.5 lakh.

Police arrested 50-year-old Jaswant Singh Prakash Singh Sukhmani in connection with the case. Preliminary investigations suggest that the weapons were allegedly being stored for sale and were meant to be supplied to different locations.

The recovery created panic in the area, with investigators now trying to determine where the weapons were sourced from and who they were intended for. Police said a detailed probe is underway to identify others linked to the alleged illegal weapons network.

Senior official Avinash Kumar praised the police team for the operation and said the crackdown against illegal arms trade would continue.

“Strict action will be taken against those trying to disturb law and order," he said.
