The incident came to light when an X user, who goes by the name Gabbar, posted a picture of the iPhone 15 he received. The picture was accompanied by a troubling message on the screen stating, "Unfortunately, Photos has stopped."

In his post, he expressed his frustration, stating, “Waah! Amazon delivered a Fake iPhone 15. The seller is Appario. Tagged with ‘Amazon choice’. No cable in the box. Total Dabba. Has anyone faced a similar issue?”

The post quickly gained traction, resonating with many of his followers and beyond, garnering views from approximately a million.

People shared similar experiences. One of the users said, "Happened to me 15 days ago. In my case, it’s some used old android phone inside iPhone packaging. My money was gone. Amazon refused any help. Folks please, stop buying expensive stuff from Amazon," in the comments section of the post.

The official account of Amazon reacted to the post and issued an apology to the disappointed user.

Social media users shared their concerns in the comments section of the post.

In an update, Gabbar said that a delivery man had come to his house to pick up the product. But, the man later said that the product can’t be returned.
