Magnitude 5.4 earthquake strikes Kashmir; tremors felt in parts of North India, Delhi

The quake struck at a depth of 6 kilometres, the NCS said.

An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter scale struck 30 km southeast of Kishtwar in Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday afternoon, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said.

Mild tremors were felt in parts of Delhi and other parts of north India.

According to NCS, the epicentre of the earthquake was in Jammu &Kashmir’s Doda. The quake struck at a depth of 6 kilometres, the NCS said.
