A Patna district judge has stayed the arrest of popular educator and YouTuber Khan Sir in a case registered against him for allegedly orchestrating a firing incident at his coaching institute on June 2.

Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, had moved an anticipatory bail plea before the Patna civil court after being named in an FIR linked to vandalism at his coaching centre, Khan Global Studies Institute, last week.

His lawyer had claimed that the FIR was “part of a conspiracy to defame" his client.

Guards Of Khan Sir’s Coaching Centre Detained

Two guards of the coaching centre were detained by the police for allegedly firing shots on the night of June 2 after a group of 15 to 20 people allegedly tore down the poster on the coaching centre and indulged in stone-pelting at its premises.

CCTV footage of the incident showed a group of men pelting stones and vandalising Khan Sir’s coaching institute. Subsequent videos also surfaced showing security guards at the centre firing shots in the air.

The two guards seen in the footage were later identified and taken into custody. During interrogation, they told police they had fired two rounds each from their licensed .315-bore rifles after allegedly being instructed to do so, and claimed that Khan Sir was present at the spot during the incident.

Following the investigation, police registered an FIR naming Khan Sir and two others, invoking charges related to attempt to murder and provisions of the Arms Act.

After the vandalism incident, Khan Sir alleged that individuals linked to a rival coaching institute were behind the attack. Meanwhile, members of a rival institute accused Khan Sir of staging the incident, which further escalated the controversy.

Rival Coaching Centre’s Supporters Demand Khan Sir’s Arrest

In a parallel development, supporters of Roshan Anand, director of Gyan Bindu Coaching, have accused the government of allegedly shielding Khan Sir. They have warned that if he is not arrested soon, they may take to the streets along with nearly 10,000 students.

Meanwhile, the court has reserved its order on the bail plea of Roshan Anand after hearing arguments in the case.

In another related matter, during the hearing concerning Khan Sir’s bodyguard, the counsel for Roshan Anand opposed bail, alleging that the firing was intentional and not merely to disperse a crowd.
