No one is as vulnerable to the virus as the frontline worriers including Journalists. According to the Delhi based Institute of perception studies report in April 2021, 77 media persons have died due to COVID-19. This includes Senior Journalist Nilakshi Bhattacharyya and prominent photo-journalist KV Anand who passed away on Friday. The top six States to record the highest Journalist deaths are - Uttar Pradesh 24, Telangana 17, Maharashtra 16, Delhi 14, Odisha 11, Andhra Pradesh 6. Forty-six journalists succumbed to Covid in 2020, while in 2021 so far 82 journalists have died in the frontline. Jaano Junction is sanding by three major demands that Rate The Debate has been amplifying: 1. Journalists and Media Persons must be considered as ‘Frontline Warriors’ with immediate effect; 2. Definition of ‘Journalists and Media Persons’ must include of all Freelance Journalists, Digital Journalists, Columnists and Part-Time Media Persons editorial staff, photographers, videographers, cameramen, technicians, technical staff, drivers, all assistants and support staff, etc.; 3.
