A man from Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi is reportedly receiving threats of a fate similar to the notorious Meerut murder case from his wife and her lover. According to a video going viral on social media, a man named Pawan came home to find his wife with another man. He then called the police, as he could not gather the courage to confront them. The video shows a man coming out of Pawan’s house, followed by his wife in the background.
Dressed in a blue shirt, the unnamed man could be seen getting furious at the police as well as the person recording his video.
Pawan, who works as a contractual employee with the National Health Mission, is posted at the Mahoba District Hospital, while his wife works as a clerk at GGIC Mauranipur.
While the couple has been living separately for some time due to personal issues, Pawan came to visit their six-year-old son when the incident took place.
Pawan reportedly claimed that his wife had been having an illicit relationship with another man and even threatened to frame him. “My wife, along with her lover, can kill me and my child and bury us in a drum. I request the administration to take action against my wife and her lover," he said, as per the outlet.
Pawan explained that when he tried to video call his son on Tuesday night, his wife picked up the call and showed the child’s face. It was then that Pawan suspected someone else’s presence at the house when he sent police to the house.
Jhansi Police, in a statement, explained that the complainant is yet to submit a written petition, while his wife has stated that she called the individual for medicine as she was having a stomach ache.
The videos have reignited discussions on the internet, with many commenting on the alleged threats. One wrote, “What will the police do? Legally nothing can be done; by giving a statement in the police station, the remaining rituals are abandoned," while another added, “If this government really wants to do welfare for the society, then it should make strict laws to stop such illegal relationships. Otherwise, this is just an example of the cruelty, oppression, and mental violence being done against men."
