The man, who was caught on camera slapping his fellow passenger on an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Kolkata, has been put on 'No fly list' by the airlines.

In an official statement, the airlines said that the assaulter has been suspended from flying on any IndiGo flights.

"In line with our commitment to discourage such unruly behaviour onboard flights, the individual (assaulter) has been suspended from flying on any IndiGo flights, in accordance with regulatory provisions," the IndiGo statement said.

"At IndiGo, the safety and well-being of our customers and crew remain our foremost priority," the statement added.

In the video that went viral on social media, the accused was seen slapping his fellow passenger who was having a panic attack onboard the flight.

On being questioned by other passengers on what led him to slap the man, he replied, "I was having problem."

The accused was handed over to the authorities once the flight arrived in Kolkata.

"Following due diligence, the incident involving an unruly customer has been formally reported to the relevant authorities for necessary action," said IndiGo.

Meanwhile, the man who was having a panic attack has been identified as Hussain Ahmed Mazumdar and he has gone missing from the Kolkata airport. He belongs to Cachar district of Assam and was scheduled to take a connecting flight from Kolkata to Silchar.

However, he never arrived in Silchar. His family members were waiting for him at the airport but he didn't arrive. His family claimed that they even tried to contact IndiGo officials regarding his whereabouts, but got no satisfactory answers.

Speaking to India Today, the family members of Hussain said that they spoke to him after his flight landed at the Kolkata airport. However, since then, his phone has remained switched off.

Hussain's family has demanded intervention from Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in this matter. A case has also been registered by the family at Kachiguda police station regarding this incident.
