A man has been arrested in Gujarat's Navsari district after he was accused of repeatedly raping his 14-year-old daughter and threatening to kill her if she spoke about it.

According to the complaint filed by his wife, he raped their daughter for three consecutive days on May 9, 10 and 11. After the assaults, he gave the girl contraceptive pills and threatened to kill her if she told anyone, which left her too frightened to speak.

"He should be hanged," the wife said in her complaint, which she filed after her daughter told her of her ordeal on May 30.

Police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Police said the man tried to flee but was traced within hours, arrested and sent to jail.
