“Ghayal Hun Isliye Ghaatak Hun”: Raghav Chadha Hits Back at AAP

In a response to weeks of internal friction and his removal from the Rajya Sabha post as a deputy leader, the AAP MP dismisses multiple allegations as a ‘coordinated campaign’ and defends his record.

The rift inside the Aam Aadmi Party has moved into full public view, with Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha accusing the party of running a “coordinated attack” against him and rejecting three allegations that were circulating within the organisation. The row escalated after AAP removed him as its deputy leader in the Upper House and asked the Rajya Sabha Secretariat not to allot him speaking time. The party later named Ashok Mittal as his replacement.

In a video message posted on X, Chadha pushed back hard at the charge that he skipped opposition walkouts, calling that claim false. He also denied that he refused to sign a motion related to the chief election commissioner, saying no one in the party had formally or informally asked him to do so. Chadha insisted that his interventions in Parliament have focused on public concerns, not theatrical politics.

Chadha also tried to shift the conversation back to his record as a lawmaker. He said he has raised issues such as inflation in everyday services, toll charges, banking fees, air pollution and problems affecting delivery workers and content creators, arguing that Parliament should be used to create impact rather than noise.

The AAP did not let the matter rest. Senior leader Saurabh Bharadwaj hit back with a sharp social media response, while party IT cell chief Anurag Dhanda accused Chadha of avoiding the party line and of not taking strong positions on issues the party considers important. Their comments made it clear that the dispute is no longer limited to internal dissatisfaction; it is now an open political fight.

The public reaction has also been mixed. On one side, Chadha’s supporters online have praised him for speaking about Parliament issues rather than party drama. Khushboo Patani, sister of actor Disha Patani, publicly backed him and even said she believed he should eventually start his own party. On the other side, critics echoed AAP’s charge that he had drifted away from the party’s core battles.
