Amid ongoing tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad, a mock drill will be conducted on Thursday evening in the states bordering Pakistan -- Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir -- which came under heavy attack from across the border during the recently concluded four-day conflict. People will be instructed to stay alert during the drill, sources informed media.
This development comes weeks after the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) conducted Operation Abhyas -- a nationwide mock drill -- on May 7, hours before India launched Operation Sindoor.
In the last mock drill, air raid warning sirens were activated while civilians and students were briefed on civil defence protocols on how to protect themselves and others around them in case of an attack.
