JJ News Desk

An 18-year-old woman from South Delhi's Madangir was gang-raped by two men in the Malviya Nagar area of the national capital. The police arrested the accused in Meerut following a raid.

According to the survivor's complaint, on January 29 (Monday) at around 1 pm, the accused, whom she had befriended on Instagram, called her to an area in Madangir.

The two were waiting for her on a two-wheeler. As she arrived, they asked her to sit, to which she refused.

She claimed that the accused threatened her and forcibly took her to Malviya Nagar, where she had a meal, allegedly laced with sedatives.

During this period, the survivor alleged that she was sexually assaulted.

Subsequently, the police launched an investigation, and a team was sent to Meerut.

On Thursday night, the team arrested the two accused.

Confirming the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan said the two accused were aged 19 and 21.

He also said that the woman had informed the police of the incident on January 29, and that further investigations into the case were underway.
