Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim has been hospitalised in Pakistan's Karachi due to a serious health complication, sources said on Monday. Several reports on social media emerged that Dawood Ibrahim was poisoned, but there was no confirmation of the same, as per the information shared by his aide.

Dawood Ibrahim was hospitalised two days ago. He is being kept under tight security inside the hospital and is the only patient on his floor, according to sources. Only top hospital authorities and his close family members have access to the floor, they said.

The Mumbai Police were trying to gain more information on the hospitalisation of the underworld don from his relatives Alishah Parkar and Sajid Wagle.

In January, the son of Haseena Parker, Dawood Ibrahim's sister, told the National Investigating Agency (NIA) that the underworld don stays in Karachi after marrying for the second time.

The NIA, in its chargesheet, against Dawood Ibrahim stated that he and his top aides control Pakistan's Karachi airport.
