Two minors were arrested on Sunday for shooting their 17-year-old classmate after calling him over for dinner. The incident occurred late Saturday in Sector 48, Gurugram.

According to police, the Sadar Police Station received a report from the control room regarding a boy being shot. Upon arrival, the victim was already being taken to hospital by family members. The police secured the scene and recovered one pistol, one magazine, five live cartridges, and one empty shell cartridge from the location. A magazine and 65 live cartridges were also recovered from a box inside the accused’s room.

The father of one of the accused works as a property dealer, and his licenced pistol, kept at home, was used in the attack.

The victim’s mother stated in a written complaint that her son, an 11th-grade student, had received a call from a school friend asking to meet. After initial hesitation, she allowed her son to go. The victim was reportedly taken to the accused’s house, where he was shot, allegedly in retaliation for a previous altercation between the two boys two months ago.

Police confirmed that the accused, both minors and classmates of the victim, were arrested on November 9, just hours after the incident. Initial interrogation revealed that the shooting was premeditated: the accused called the victim, had dinner with him, and then picked up another friend before going to the accused’s rented house in Sector 48, where the shooting took place.

The investigation is ongoing, and further legal action is underway.
