Former Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust General Secretary Champat Rai has issued his first public statement since allegations related to the Ram Temple donation case emerged, urging people to wait for the completion of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe before drawing conclusions.

Rai, who recently resigned from his position as the Trust's general secretary, shared a handwritten letter on social media platform X. In the letter, written in Hindi, he said he had deliberately remained silent on the matter in accordance with the wishes of the Trust while the investigation was underway.

Referring to the alleged theft reported during the counting of donations collected from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex since June 6, 2026, Rai said the controversy had led to widespread speculation and what he described as "unfair allegations" against him.

He stated that the Trust had asked him not to comment publicly until the Special Investigation Team submitted its preliminary findings. According to Rai, the preliminary report has now been made public, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Rai appealed to the public to wait for the SIT's final report before forming opinions. He said that appropriate responses to what he described as misinformation and misconceptions should only be made after the investigation is complete, adding that the truth would emerge through the official process.

In his statement, Rai also reflected on his public life, saying he has been serving in Ayodhya through the organisation since October 1991 and has spent around 45 years in public service. He described his public life as "an open book" and said he remained committed to the truth.

The alleged Ram Temple donation case is currently under investigation by the Special Investigation Team. Authorities have arrested several individuals in connection with the case. The investigation remains ongoing, and no court has determined the guilt or innocence of those involved.
