Captain, trainee pilot hurt after private aircraft crashes due to engine glitch in Karnataka's Vijaypura

The private aircraft was heading from Kalaburagi to Belagavi when it developed a technical glitch in the engine and suddenly crashed in Vijaypura.

A captain and a trainee pilot were injured after a private training aircraft belonging to Red Bird Aviation crashed following an engine glitch in Karnataka’s Vijayapura district on Sunday.

The incident took place at Mangalore village. The light aircraft was carrying two persons at the time of the crash. Both sustained injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital in an ambulance.

The incident occurred within the limits of the Babaleshwar Police Station and cops reached the spot soon after receiving information about the crash. Further details on the cause of the accident are awaited.

Sharing preliminary findings, the investigation officer said, “It is a private aircraft belonging to Red Bird Aviation. It was heading from Kalaburagi to Belagavi when it developed a technical glitch in the engine and suddenly crashed."plane

The official confirmed that there were two people on board, identified as the captain and a trainee pilot.

"Both sustained grievous injuries in the incident and have been shifted to the nearest hospital for further treatment. Further investigation is underway," the investigation officer added.
