On Tuesday, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) unveiled its brand-new logo, which, according to the telco, symbolises trust, strength, and nationwide reach. Ahead of the country-wide 4G network launch, BSNL has introduced seven new services, including a spam-blocking solution, Wi-Fi roaming service, intranet TV, and more.

“The launch marks the dawn of a transformative era for the service provider, reaffirming its commitment to providing seamless, universal, affordable, and accessible connectivity to all,” said Jyotiraditya M Scindia, the Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, Government of India.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) new services:

BSNL claims that it is a spam-free network and is using a custom solution to eliminate scams and spam communication in real-time. Besides this, the telco also announced Wi-Fi roaming, which enables BSNL network users to connect to any BSNL FTTH Wi-Fi network while travelling, and FTTH users can also access over 500 premium TV channels via the company’s fibre-based intranet live TV service.

BSNL is also making it a lot easier to buy new BSNL SIM cards with Any Time SIM (ATS) kiosks, which can automatically dispense, complete KYC, and activate SIM cards. The telco is also offering additional services like India’s first satellite-to-device connectivity for SMS services, which works on land, air, and sea.

Similarly, it also announced a single one-time solution network service for disaster management. BSNL also announced a secure 5G network for the mining sector.

BSNL has been rapidly expanding its 4G network across the country, and ever since the tariff hike by Airtel, Jio, and Vi, BSNL has seen an increase in the number of subscribers, thanks to its affordable recharge plans. The government-owned telco aims to complete the 4G rollout across the country by 2025 and is also said to be working on a 5G network, which could arrive six to eight months after the completion of the 4G rollout.
