Indonesia’s main island of Java has been hit by a massive landslide in which at least 8 people have been reported to be killed. Over 80 people are missing from the site as rescuers struggle through deep mud, searching for survivors.

The landslide has been triggered by torrential rains causing rivers to burst their banks, tearing through Pasir Langu village in West Bandung district of West Java province, reported AP.

Rescuers are wading through the landslide-hit area to locate 82 residents feared buried under heaps of mud and debris. About 34 houses have been burried in the mountainside hamlet.
