Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a meeting on Monday in the Parliament House complex in New Delhi. Officials confirmed the meeting but did not disclose details of the discussions.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of ongoing protests by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). The group has been demonstrating since June, primarily demanding Pradhan’s resignation over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination, along with broader reforms in the examination system.

On the same day, thousands of protesters gathered in the capital as part of a “Chalo Sansad” march, attempting to move towards Parliament. Security was heightened in central Delhi, with police deployment increased to manage the situation and maintain law and order.

Reports indicate that some protesters tried to breach barricades, leading to the use of crowd-control measures by authorities. There were also detentions and disruptions reported in parts of the city.

Meanwhile, the government signalled willingness for dialogue, with CJP representatives meeting Union Minister J.P. Nadda to present their demands. Protest leaders have stated that they will continue their agitation while remaining open to discussions.

At present, no official statement has been released regarding the outcome or agenda of the Shah–Pradhan meeting.
