The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced plans for what its founder Abhijeet Dipke has called “Jantar Mantar Season 2”, signalling a fresh phase of political activism following the group’s earlier student-led protests in Delhi. The party says the next phase will focus on listening to public concerns and campaigning on issues including education.

Das said the party considers its broader activities and nationwide mobilisation to be part of “Season 2”. He said the CJP plans to undertake a nationwide “listening tour” to understand issues raised by citizens and intends to prioritise education-related concerns from Independence Day on August 15.

The CJP has announced a new campaign titled “School Thik Karo”, which is scheduled to begin on August 15. The campaign will focus on basic infrastructure and facilities in government schools, particularly in rural areas.

The campaign comes alongside the CJP’s “Kya Bolti Public” initiative, through which the party says it intends to collect concerns and opinions from people across the country. Education has been identified as the campaign’s initial priority.

Dipke also alleged on Wednesday that the CJP faced difficulty securing a venue for a volunteers’ meeting in Delhi. He claimed several hall owners refused to rent their premises because of alleged “pressure from above”.

Dipke attributed the alleged pressure to the BJP and said such actions would not discourage the party. However, the allegations could not be independently verified.

The CJP initially emerged as a satirical digital political platform but has increasingly positioned itself as a pressure group focused on public issues. Its latest announcements indicate an attempt to expand its activities beyond street protests and into grassroots outreach.
