6 Killed After Roof At Dargah Near Delhi's Humayun's Tomb Collapses

The officials informed that 11 people have been rescued from the site and have been admitted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Six people, including three women and three men, were killed after a portion of a wall collapsed inside the Dargah Sharif Patte Shah, located near Humayun’s Tomb complex in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area on Friday afternoon. Seven people are still feared trapped under debris.

Officials informed that 11 people have been rescued from the site and have been admitted to various hospitals in Delhi for medical treatment. As per initial reports, the Delhi Fire Service and other emergency teams rushed to the location after receiving a call about the incident at approximately 3:51 pm, following which rescue operations were launched immediately.

Nine injured were rushed to the AIIMS trauma centre, where five of them were pronounced dead. The deceased include two men aged 79 and 35 years, while two of the three women were aged 40 years. The other woman was reported to be 42 years old.

The condition of another injured man, who has been admitted to Lok Nayak hospital, is critical. The rest of the injured are in stable condition.

The DVR of the mosque has been seized and brought to PS H Nizamuddin and the caretakers of the mosque are being examined. Further investigation is underway, and civic agencies are being informed of the incident for further n/a at their end.

The Humayun’s Tomb complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a major tourist destination, dates back to the mid-16th century and draws a large number of visitors throughout the year.
