France’s Macron, who talked to Zelenskyy after the clash, remarked, "Russia is the aggressor, and Ukraine is the aggressed people”.
“I think we were all right to help Ukraine and sanction Russia three years ago, and to continue to do so... Because they (Ukraine) are fighting for their dignity, their independence, their children and the security of Europe,” Macron said.
German Chancellor Olaf opined that no one wants peace more than the citizens of Ukraine. “That is why we are jointly seeking the path to a lasting and just peace. Ukraine can rely on Germany – and on Europe,” he said.
“You are never alone, dear President,” was European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen’s response.
"Your dignity honours the bravery of the Ukrainian people. Be strong, be brave, be fearless. We will continue working with you for a just and lasting peace,” she tweeted.
While Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said, "Ukraine, Spain stands with you”, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk asserted, “Dear Zelenskyy, dear Ukrainian friends, you are not alone”.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni called for an immediate summit between the United States, European states and allies to talk frankly about how we intend to deal with the great challenges of today.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr called it a “serious and disheartening” event that happened at the White House on Friday.
“That Trump accuses Zelenskiy of gambling with World War III is deeply unreasonable and a statement I distance myself from. Norway stands with Ukraine in their struggle for freedom,” he said.
“The only obstacle to peace is the decision by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to continue his war of aggression,” Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, also joined the discussion.
Trump and Zelenskyy held a meeting at the White House on Friday ahead of signing a mineral deal. When Trump accused Zelenskyy of disrespecting him and gambling with World War III, the discussion turned into an intense argument, with the Ukrainian leader also questioning Trump's leanings toward Russia and slamming Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump abruptly called off the meeting, and the White House asked Zelenskyy to leave without signing the mineral deal.
