After the 11th consecutive night of assault on Iran, President Donald Trump has warned that the US will strike Iranian bridges and power plants every time Tehran attacks a ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: "From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran."
The warning came after the US military completed its 11th consecutive night of operations against Iran. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the latest strikes lasted about 75 minutes late on Tuesday.
Last week, he threatened to expand US targets to include bridges and energy facilities.
The US military said its latest operation targeted sites linked to Iran's military capabilities.
"CENTCOM assets targeted Iranian military operations centers, maritime capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and military logistics infrastructure to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz," the US Central Command said in a statement.
Washington has accused Iran of attacking more than 30 commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz over the past three months.
The conflict began on February 28 when the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran. Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military bases.
The fighting has since spread across the region. US and Israeli strikes on Iran, along with Israeli attacks in Lebanon, have killed thousands and displaced millions of people.
An Iranian health ministry official said recent US strikes killed 50 civilians and wounded around 500 others. Meanwhile, US troop deaths have risen to 18 in recent days.
