US-based Southwest Airlines faces 'brief' outage, over 1,300 flights delayed

The airline, in a statement, said a power outage at its Texas facility had disrupted its computer systems, which caused some of its flights to be delayed as officials rebooted the systems.

Southwest Airlines, a low-cost carrier in the US, on Wednesday (local time) said over 1,300 of its flights were delayed due to a brief computer outage at one of its data centres in Dallas.

The airline, in a statement, said a power outage at its Texas facility had disrupted its computer systems, which caused some of its flights to be delayed as officials rebooted the systems.

"Southwest Airlines has resolved a brief technology issue that was caused by a power outage at one of our data centres in the Dallas area this afternoon," a spokesperson for Southwest Airlines said.
