A 5.0-magnitude earthquake hit Nepal on Friday, just days after a major quake rattled Myanmar and Thailand. According to the National Centre for Seismology, tremors from the Nepal quake were also felt across the Delhi-NCR region.

The National Centre for Seismology reported that the earthquake occurred at 7:52 pm (local time), with its epicentre at a depth of 20 kilometres.

The earthquake in Nepal came just a day after a 2.6-magnitude tremor was recorded in Maharashtra’s Solapur district on Thursday, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Myanmar’s military-led government said the death toll from the earthquake had reached 3,085 people, the news agency Associated Press reported. Another 4,715 people have been injured, and 341 are still missing.

"The situation remains critical as search and rescue efforts continue," the military said in a brief statement. Humanitarian organisations are working to provide survivors with medical support and temporary shelter.
