Amid the ongoing war, Iran launched another barrage of missiles towards Israel carrying messages thanking countries that showed solidarity towards Tehran. The message read, “Thank you to people of India". Similar notes were also addressed to people in Spain, Pakistan and Germany, according to visuals shared on social media.

Video footage showed personnel from Iran’s Aerospace Force writing these messages on the missiles before launch.

Iranian missiles strike Israel and Gulf

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the 83rd wave of strikes took place on Friday. It involved long- and medium-range missiles and drones targeting locations in Israel as well as military facilities across the Gulf, including sites used by US forces.

Iranian agencies reported that a maintenance facility for the US Patriot air defence system in Bahrain was among the targets hit.

Iran war

The strikes come amid rising tensions after months of exchanges between Tehran and Israel. Ballistic missiles have been repeatedly launched towards Israeli territory as part of Iran’s retaliatory response during the conflict in the Middle East.

Despite the escalation, Iran said on Thursday it had allowed transit through the Strait of Hormuz for “friendly nations", including India.

Meanwhile, large numbers of people from the Shia community in Jammu and Kashmir showed support for Iran. In the Chanderkot area of Ramban district, hundreds gathered at a local imambara, donating cash, household items, gold and silver ornaments. Children also contributed by emptying their piggy banks. Some people even donated livestock, including sheep, as part of the relief effort.

In Budgam, residents also contributed jewellery and cash to express solidarity with Iranians affected by the ongoing Gulf War crisis.
