Former US Vice President Kamala Harris stepped onto the Met Gala red carpet for the first time, and did so in style, trading her signature pantsuits for a tailored Off-White gown.

Harris made her Met Gala debut at the 2025 edition of fashion's most-anticipated evening. She was wearing a custom creation by Off-White’s creative director, IB Kamara.

Her black-and-cream ensemble aligned with this year’s theme - 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style' - a celebration of Black dandyism and identity through fashion.

The gown featured structured tailoring, a single sleeve, and a flowing silk scarf, details that added depth without overpowering her presence.

Kamara, explaining his design choice, said the look was built around Harris’s quiet strength and confidence. “The precise simplicity of this black and cream look for Kamala D. Harris complements her own strength and confidence, two qualities I consider to be the core of dandyism,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

Former White House photographer Cameron Smith shared pictures on her Instagram account.

The 2025 Met Gala also marked the opening of the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition. The event saw an influential group of co-chairs, including Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A\$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour. LeBron James, originally set to join as honorary chair, had to withdraw due to a knee injury.
