Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz on Tuesday said that he had ordered the armed forces to "respond forcefully" to Iran's latest missile barrage, just a few hours after US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, with both sides confirming the development.
Moments back, several sirens went off across Israel as its defence forces urged the public to seek refuge in bomb shelters after several missiles were launched towards the country.
"In light of Iran’s blatant violation of the ceasefire declared by the president of the United States — through the launch of missiles toward Israel — and in accordance with the Israeli government's policy to respond forcefully to any breach, I have instructed the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) ... to continue high-intensity operations targeting regime assets and terror infrastructure in Tehran," Katz said.
