Israel finalises Iran revenge plan, US set to tighten sanctions noose

JJ News Desk

Israel has finalised its revenge plan to launch a counterstrike on Iran in response to Tehran's direct attack on the Jewish nation, but a suitable timing is yet to be ascertained, according to reports.

"In the coming days, the US will impose new sanctions targeting Iran, including its missile and drone program, as well as new sanctions against entities supporting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iran’s Defence Ministry," he said on Tuesday.

Here are the latest developments:

Israeli military chief Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said the timing of the counter-strike on Iran was not very imminent. "We are enabling a home front policy to at least give citizens this Passover week to live almost like normal,” he said on Tuesday.

Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has denied Israeli claims that some of Iran's missiles were launched from his country. "Our position is clear; we do not allow any non-governmental body to use Iraq to bring it back into the battle.
