Israel has officially accepted a ceasefire proposal with Iran as brokered by the US. The announcement was made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said that they have achieved the goal of ending the Iranian nuclear and ballistic missile threat.

Netanyahu also thanked US President Donald Trump for "support in defense and participation in removing the Iranian nuclear threat".

The Israeli PM's statement came hours after Trump announced to the world a truce agreement between Israel and Iran, ending the 12-day war, even as initial confusion plagued the relief, with Iran rejecting it first, only to accept it later.
