Heard nothing from India on stopping oil buys: Russia on Trump trade deal comments

Ukraine says no update on Russian oil purchase halt after US-India trade deal

JJ News Desk

Russia on Tuesday said that it had heard no official statements from India about halting purchases of Russian oil and that Moscow intended to develop its strategic partnership with New Delhi.

The statement came a day after US President Donald Trump announced a trade deal with India that would result in the imposition of significantly reduced tariffs of 18%, down from 50%, on Indian exports to the US in exchange for New Delhi halting oil purchases from Russia lowering trade barriers.

This is a developing story. It will be updated.
